DS Nick Bailey and wife Sarah respond to news novichok used

DS Nick Bailey and wife Sarah have reacted to the news that novichok was used against the Russian opposition leader.

Mr Navalny, a politician and corruption investigator who is one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s fiercest critics, fell ill on a flight back to Moscow from Siberia on August 20 and was taken to hospital in the Siberian city of Omsk after the plane made an emergency landing.

The Bailey’s reaction comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted: “It’s outrageous that a chemical weapon was used against Alexey Navalny. We have seen first-hand the deadly consequences of Novichok in the UK. ”

In a tweet posted last night, Sarah Bailey said: “Justice would be nice. Actions speak louder than words. #nevergoingtohappen”. DS Nick Bailey added: “I have so much that I want to say about this tweet. But I can’t, and I won’t.”

In two further posts this morning, Sarah added: “Let me add some context to my tweet last night. It’s been almost 2 1/2 years after the events in Salisbury and there has been no justice for Dawn and her family and none for the Skripals, Charlie or us. And now it’s happened again. “There appears to be no consequences for the culprits. The Government are right to condemn these actions, but in 2 1/2 years will it be forgotten about? That’s how it feels for us. #RIPDawn.”
